چکیده

Purpose: The aim of the study is to compare the expression of CD10 in invasive and non-invasive urothelial carcinomas. Methods: Primary sites of 40 cases of urothelial carcinomas were studied on H&E stained sections from the original biopsy paraffin block, out of them, 20 with and another 20 – without smooth muscle invasion. For CD 10 expression routine immunohistochemical procedure was applied, using DAKO FLEX monoclonal mouse antihuman clon 56C6. Results: Two groups invasive and non-invasive urothelial cancers were compared in regard to CD10 expression. The results definitely reveal that most of the cells in all invasive cancers express CD10, while in non-invasive cancers CD10 expresion was absent. Conclusion: The results provide convinsing evidense for CD10 role in urothelial cancer invasiveness in underlying smooth muscle.

CD10 expression in urothelial bladder carcinomas: staining patterns and relationship with pathologic parameters*

Aim: CD10 is a cell surface metalloprotease that inactivates various bioactive neuropeptides. CD10 has been suggested as a useful prognostic marker for urothelial carcinoma, but there are only a few studies of CD10 in urothelial tumors and they have shown varying results. The aims of this study were to investigate the expression of CD10 in urothelial bladder carcinomas and to clarify its associ...

Immunohistochemical expression of CD10 in cutaneous basal and squamous cell carcinomas

Background: Non-melanoma skin cancer is the most common malignant tumor in humans. The role of ultraviolet radiation is well-known in the pathogenesis of basal cell carcinoma (BCC) and squamous cell carcinoma (SCC). CD10 is a zinc-dependent metallopeptidase known as common acute lymphoblastic leukemia antigen (CALLA). Although CD10 expression has been investigated in some cutaneous tu...

Value of CD10 Expression in Differentiating Cutaneous Basal from Squamous Cell Carcinomas and Basal Cell Carcinoma from Trichoepithelioma

Background: In addition to the well-defined histological criteria for squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) and basal cell carcinoma (BCC), immunohistochemical techniques can be used in difficult cases for their differentiation. As differential diagnosis between trichoepithelioma (TE) and BCC is sometimes difficult for the clinician and the pathologist, CD10 may be a useful marker for definite diagnosi...

The Relationship Between Fibroblastic Growth Factor Receptor-1 (FGFR1) Gene Amplification in Triple Negative Breast Carcinomas and Clinicopathological Prognostic Factors

Background & Objective: In Triple-Negative Breast Cancers (TNBCs), estrogen receptor (ER), progesterone receptor (PR) and HER2/neu genes are not expressed. Fibroblastic Growth Factor Receptor-1 (FGFR1) gene product is a protein that acts as a receptor of thyrosin kinase. It plays a role in the proliferation, differentiation, and migration of malignant cells. The objective was t...
